In Memoriam: Rabbi David Honigsberg

Friends --

A stalwart of fandom and a dear friend to many left us last week. Rabbi David Honigsberg passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 48.

David was a true renaissance man: a Biblical scholar, a musician, an author, and an all-around mensch. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra Honigsberg, his parents and brother, and a myriad of friends and fans.

I was fortunate enough to catch David’s jam session with Peter Heck at Lunacon. Little did I know that his guitar would soon fall silent.

Goodbye, my friend. As they say, “If there’s a rock-n-roll heaven, then you know they’ve got a hell of a band.”
