Fiction Guidelines
ATTENTION: We are finally open to submissions! The submission window opened November 1st, 2007 and will close January 31st, 2008. Only submissions received during this window will be considered for publication, until further notice.
We are always looking for creative blends of science fiction, fantasy, and/or horror, but are really open to looking at anything, so long as it is speculative. Stories should be in standard manuscript format and a maximum of 10K words. Gratuitous sex and gore will not win you any brownie points, so only include if they are integral to the plot. Don’t send children’s stories; we’re not for the young’ins. No simultaneous or multiple submissions and no reprints without querying first. All submissions are to be sent electronically as a Word or .rtf attachment to fictioneditor@spaceandtimemagazine.com. If there is some reason that you cannot send us a story electronically, please query at the same address and explain the situation, so a snail mail address can be provided. NOTE: Do NOT snail mail to the Piscataway address - that’s for invoicing and other business correspondence ONLY. Submissions to that address will be returned unopened or discarded. Payment is a penny per word.
Note to authors who made sales to Gordon, yet haven’t seen their work in print or received payment: Please contact me directly! Many records are out-of-date and I have few to no email addresses for you. I probably have your story or poem, and am planning to publish it for Issue 102. So, if you need a status, please contact me ASAP at hildy@spaceandtimemagazine.com, and I’ll be happy to give you an update.
