My Arisia Schedule

I have my Arisia 2010 schedule…and boy, will I be busy! Gordon Linzner will also be attending this one, so if you’re in the Boston area the weekend of Martin Luther King Day, we’d love to meet and greet you! For my full schedule, click on the News tab.

Breakfast With Cool People

If you’re going to be at the Arisia convention in January (14th-17th), please consider picking up a ticket to breakfast with cool people. I am one of the featured Cool People, which means I get to have one of my three favorite meals of the day with you! I promise to chew with my mouth shut and not eat with my toes.

‘Tis The Season(s)

No matter what holiday you celebrate this season – Hannukah, Christmas, Eid, the Solstice, etc. — a subscription to Space and Time Magazine makes a terrific gift for friends and family. And, it keeps on giving, four times per year! In honor of Cyber Monday, all new one or two-year subscriptions received today, 11/29, will receive a bonus #100 double anniversary issue of Space and Time! So, click over to our Subscribe tab and place your order(s) now!

Philcon - Hopefully

So I’m scheduled to appear on panels at Philcon in Cherry Hill, NJ as are several of S&T’s editors/associate editors. The reason I had the “hopefully” is that my lower back is completely out-of-whack and it’s going to have to get a lot better than it is now in order for this weekend to happen. Assuming I make it, though, and I am really going to try, here is my schedule:

Fri 6:00 PM in Plaza V (Five) (1 hour)
A CHECK-UP WITH THE DOCTOR (385)

[Panelists: Patricia M. Cryan (mod), Hildy Silverman, Lisa Sullivan,
    Ty Drago]

Fri 10:00 PM - 12am in Crystal Ballroom Three (1 hour)
SCIENCE FICTION QUIZ SHOW (494)

Fri 11:59 PM in Crystal Ballroom Three (1 hour)
EYE OF ARGON READING (484)

Sat 3:00 PM in Plaza IV (Four) (1 hour)
SPACE & TIME MAGAZINE PANEL (493)

Sat 9:00 PM in Plaza I (One) (1 hour)
THE HARD BOILED DETECTIVE TRADITION IN FANTASY (507)

Sun 3:00 PM in Plaza II (Two) (1 hour)
IT CAME FROM THE SLUSH PILE (460)

[Panelists: Hildy Silverman (mod), John Gregory Betancourt, Alyce
    Wilson, Neil Clarke, Brian Koscienski]

Killer toilets. Vengeful roadkill. What stories keep getting
submitted to editors? Are there any hot new trends hiding in the
    rejection pile

And here are the Space and Time staffers who are scheduled to attend:

Diane Weinstein - art director

Gordon Linzner - editor emeritus

Gary Frank - associate editor

Jenn Perssons - associate editor

Ed Greaves - associate editor

Neal Levin - advertising/DarkQuest Books publisher

There will also be a variety of authors, artists and other contributors to Space and Time milling about, and the magazine will be for sale in the Dealer’s Room. Come check it out: www.philcon.org!

Asbury Park Zombie Walk Achieves World Record

I’m pleased to report that the Asbury Park Zombie Walk was entered into the Guiness Book of World Records as the official, world’s largest zombie walk. Yes, there is such a thing — go figure! Congrats to the organizers who were wonderful hosts to me and the other vendors who attended.
