In Memoriam: Josepha Sherman

Folks, I am very sad to say that frequent Space and Time contributor — and my personal friend — author Josepha Sherman has died. Jo’s first story was published by editor emeritus Gordon Linzner in Space and Time and her work has appeared in our pages on many occasions. I actually have one more story in reserve from her that I will release in the Winter issue. She was a tremendous talent, skilled in writing everything from humorous science fiction to serious fantasy to scholarly nonfiction, and will be missed by everyone in the field. Rest in peace, kind lady.

    Dear Hildy,

I am deeply saddened at the news of Josepha Sherman’s death. She was both a talented and a very dear person. I recollect enjoying chatting with her at Eeriecon as well as Philcon, and am especially stunned to hear we have lost at her so comparatively early in her life.

I am very sorry to hear this news. I knew Ms. Sherman from publishing in one of her folklore projects, and communicating via a folklore discussion group. I had not known much about her conenction to science fiction and fantasy — truly a person with depth and width. May we meet sometime in The Big Crunch.
